Washington defeats Dallas Cowboys. Is all hope lost?

I don't even know what to say or where to start. I don't even know how to write about this absolute loss for the Dallas Cowboys. This is the cursed season if they had one before, this one takes the cake. Losing our star right tackle, Zack Martin and our left tackle Cameron Erving in the first quarter wasn't enough. So let's roll with this, upfront you're at a disadvantage against an explosive Washington front. So the bubble collapses from the pressure and what happens to the Red Rifle Andy Dalton? He gets sacked! No one can blame Andy Dalton because he played one of his best games for the season he has a rocket on his arm and his deep passes reflect that. That touch down pass to Amari Cooper for 54 yards was beautiful but unfortunately that's all we would be getting. Zeke's runs didn't have that much of an impact and they didn't give it to Zeke that much anyways, Tony Pollard probably didn't come on for more than 5 drives in total. Ceedee Lamb couldn't catch any balls. Even that critical play in the end zone that would have put them up by 3 points.

The defense is great at building up your confidence to knock it back down. In the first half I was with it, they were making tackles, even sacked Alex Smith once or twice. Jaylon Smith jumped up for an interception and almost made it to the end zone but he go tripped up because he isn't very fast. The second half was sloppy, there was no coverage on the run. Safeties weren't picking up plays fast enough. Sean Lee's age started showing trying to cover the passes. This was supposed to be a revenge match for this Cowboys defense, your quarterback got a concussion by an illegal play in week 7 by this team and your motivation is at 0? Take some inspiration from the Steelers, could anyone hurt Big Ben and not fear that the Steelers defense are about to rip them apart?

The worst fake punt in the history of the NFL was last night. I feel so sorry for the fans in the stadium that had to see that, why would you drop back 15 yards? It's obvious that the defense would read the play and be waiting for you. This is part of a bigger problem and I can't help but ask, how good of a play caller is Mike McCarthy really? It seems to me that he's not very good. Could it be the execution? Absolutely, but you're supposed to know your players. There were so many botched plays in the Washington game. The Zeke fake to Ceedee Lamb who couldn't even get into the end zone and lost about 5 yards in the 3rd quarter. On thanksgiving, at home with fans in the stadium and that's the game? A 41-16 loss, it's murphy's law for the Cowboys, what can go wrong will go wrong. It's safe to say that people are deflated and once again they've lost hope in the Cowboys ability to win games and get to the top of the NFC East, in fact they did the opposite, last in the NFC Least. Dallas plays the COVID stricken Ravens next week Thursday and they have to bury their strength and conditioning coach Marcus Paul who unexpectedly passed away this week. At this point everyone is so rubbed raw that nothing could possibly surprise us. Aliens could land in AT&T stadium and I wouldn't blink an eye.

Here are the highlights from the worst Thanksgiving Game ever.

  1. The season is the season. The teams that persever through these situations, usually come out stronger.
